Our Family
Luby Shearing is about providing quality services as a family.
Jason is owner, lead alpaca/ llama shearer, driver, and the leader of the team.
Briana is the alpaca whisperer, working to safely control the animal and to calm and comfort them during the shearing process.
Jacob is our sheep shearer and handles the most challenging sheep with confidence.
Jeri, from our mountain top cabin in WV, handles logistics, hotel reservations, scheduling, and client/website communications. It’s a job for her to schedule our clients efficiently and keeping everyone informed along the way while routing the team in the most logistical travel path!
The shearing team takes a little more time with the animals and the clients. Our clients range from new owners to experienced owners with larger herds. For each client, we efficiently shear the animal while trying to make the animal as comfortable as possible during the process. We take time to chat with the client about their animals, listening to concern about weight, pregnancy, and worm load, for example and sharing our observations.
At the end of the day - hundreds of clients and tens of thousands of miles - Luby Shearing loves the animals and has built relationships with our clients - many dating back nearly 10 years. We look forward to adding you to our next shearing season. - God bless y’all
What do we do after shearing season?
We live in our rustic mountain top cabin in WV with our 3 dogs & Jeri’s mother lives with us. We homeschool Jacob and Briana. We enjoy picking apples in the fall from our property, foraging, hunting, hiking and a lot of front porch sitting overlooking the valleys below.
